Getting involved
Those who are looking to grow their green thumbs, share their gardening knowledge or connect with other like-minded people; then there are regular activity days for you to come down and get your hands dirty.
We recognise that not everyone has the time or is physically able to commit to taking an active role in the garden itself. McDougall Farm Community Garden is more than just a veggie patch. We require people with ideas, administrative skills, contacts and of course financial support to keep this project going. You might have an administrative flair, experience in writing grant applications, media releases or newsletters.
Maybe you have a keen eye for photography, are a jack-of-many-trades or a whiz with the fast paced ever evolving information technology scene. We are sure there is a task or project for you to lend your skills and abilities too.

Weekly activity days at the garden
McDougall Farm Community Garden holds three activity days most weeks: Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.
During winter the number of activity days per week often reduces. The Garden Convener keeps volunteers up to date on which day volunteers are required.
From April through to September volunteering times start at 8:00am. From October through to March volunteering times are from 7:30am. Each volunteering session usually runs for 2 -3 hours, depending on the weather, type and number of tasks to be completed.
Slight variations to time occur occasionally. The Garden Convener can confirm any changes to start times prior to the day.
During Christmas and New Year volunteers enjoy a welcome rest to recharge before activity days resume in mid to late January.
